Mechanical Field Engineer – Job Description
The Mechanical Field Engineer will be responsible for construction engineering activities within the mechanical discipline.
The successful candidate will support mechanical construction activities, coordinate engineering requirements, inspect installations, monitor quality and safety, prepare reports, and help resolve construction and design issues.
The role requires excellent planning, organizational, inspection, and documentation skills.
Key Responsibilities
The Mechanical Field Engineer will be responsible for:
- Coordinating with engineering teams regarding constructability and design issues.
- Supporting superintendents and construction teams in meeting project schedules.
- Verifying materials, equipment, and construction quality.
- Developing mechanical work plans.
- Coordinating material take-offs and requisitions.
- Performing and documenting field inspections.
- Monitoring project progress and preparing reports.
- Resolving conflicts related to mechanical installation and testing.
- Ensuring procedural compliance and proper material control.
- Preparing quantity listings for field-purchased materials and equipment.
- Supporting construction drawings and schedules.
- Assisting with temporary construction facilities.
- Ensuring preparation of as-built drawings.
- Supporting the planning and delivery of construction materials and equipment.
- Reviewing specifications, purchase orders, inspection reports, delivery schedules, and technical documents.
- Ensuring proper safety and quality standards are followed throughout the project.
Education & Experience Requirements
Candidates should meet one of the following requirements:
Option 1
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field
- Minimum 15 years of progressive experience in construction or mechanical engineering
Option 2
Candidates without a degree may qualify with:
- Minimum 20 years of relevant experience
- Experience working in the MENA region
- Strong understanding of regional cultural norms and project requirements
